Is Jobpursuit free?
Yes. The core job tracker, kanban board, resume builder, and cover letter editor are free. You get 25,000 AI tokens on sign-up to try all AI features with no credit card required. Additional tokens can be purchased if you need more.
What is a kanban job tracker?
A kanban board organises your job applications as cards across columns: Saved, Applied, Interview, and Offer. Instead of hunting through a spreadsheet, you drag cards from column to column as applications progress, giving you a clear, instant view of your entire pipeline.
Is a job tracker better than a spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet can work, but it has real limits. It does not show you where applications are in the pipeline at a glance, it cannot auto-fill job details from a URL, and it has no built-in AI for resumes or cover letters. A purpose-built tracker handles all of that and keeps everything in one place, so you spend less time managing the process and more time on the actual applications.
What is ATS and why does it matter?
ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System. Most companies run applications through software that scans resumes for keywords before a human ever reads them. If your resume does not contain the right terms for that role, it can be filtered out automatically. Tailoring your resume to each job description and checking your keyword score are the most practical ways to get past this filter.
Does Jobpursuit check if my resume will pass ATS?
Yes. The keyword score feature compares your resume against a specific job description and highlights terms the employer is likely scanning for that are missing from your document. You can use this to close gaps before you submit the application.
How does AI resume tailoring work?
Your resume contains your full career, but each job only cares about part of it. Can I have multiple versions of my resume?
Yes, you can create up to 50 named resume profiles. When you tailor your resume to a job, the tailored version is saved as a brand new profile so your original is never touched. This makes it easy to keep a clean base resume while building a library of role-specific versions for different industries or job types.
Can I import my existing resume?
Yes. Paste the plain text of your resume into the import tool and the AI reads it and populates all the structured fields for you: work experience, education, skills, projects, and more. It saves you the time of entering everything manually.
Can I export my resume as a PDF?
Yes. From the resume editor, open the print or export option and save as PDF. Every built-in template is designed to print cleanly, so what you see on screen is what you get in the file.
Can I track unlimited job applications?
Yes. There is no limit on how many jobs you can track. Add as many applications as your search requires.
Does Jobpursuit work with LinkedIn or job boards?
There is no direct integration, but you can paste the URL of any job posting into Jobpursuit and the AI extracts the key details automatically: company, role, location, salary, description, and requirements. This works with LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and most company career pages.
How does the AI cover letter generator work?
Select a tracked job and your resume, choose a tone (formal, conversational, or enthusiastic), and the AI writes a cover letter that connects your background to the specific company and role. You can then edit it freely in the built-in rich text editor.
Do cover letters still matter?
It depends on the employer, but a well-targeted cover letter still makes a real difference for roles where competition is high or where culture fit matters. A generic one rarely helps. The key is to make it specific: reference the company, the role, and what you bring to that particular team. The Jobpursuit AI generator does this in a few seconds, so you do not have to choose between writing one properly or skipping it entirely.
How long should a cover letter be?
One page is the standard, usually three or four short paragraphs. The first paragraph names the role and why you want it. The middle paragraphs connect your experience to what the employer needs. The closing paragraph states what you are looking for next. The Jobpursuit generator follows this structure by default.
What are AI tokens and how do they work?
Tokens are the currency for AI features on Jobpursuit. Every new account gets 25,000 free tokens, which is enough to tailor several resumes, generate cover letters, and explore the AI tools without spending anything. When you run an AI action, a small number of tokens is deducted based on how much text the model processes. If you need more, you can purchase token packs from the pricing page.
What happens when I run out of AI tokens?
The core app keeps working exactly as normal. You can still track jobs, move cards on the kanban board, and edit your resume and cover letters manually. Only the AI-powered actions (tailoring, cover letter generation, translation, and import) are paused until you top up. There is no subscription required to get more tokens.
What languages does Jobpursuit support?
The resume translation and cover letter generator support 26 languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, Polish, and Swedish among others. This is useful if you are applying to jobs in multiple countries or want your documents in your native language.
Can I use Jobpursuit on my phone?
The kanban board is fully mobile-friendly and easy to use on any screen size. The resume builder and cover letter editor work on mobile too, but they are designed for a larger screen where you can see your full document while editing.
Is my data private?
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. AI features process your documents and discard them and nothing is used to train future AI models. You can export your data at any time.
